Birkbeck, “London’s evening University” recently commissioned me to create a series of videos for the newly launched Birkbeck Talent a bespoke recruitment service for students and recent graduates. It’s a great service, for more info check it out HERE. Below are a selection of the final videos.
Commonly known as ‘God’s Wonderful Railway’ and ‘The Holiday Line’ because it connected citydwellers to Cornwall and the West Country. Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s Great Western Railway was recently re-branded by Pentagram. Reviving the old name of the railway, this contemporary brand identity is certainly aware of it’s history.
Sunday Assembly – the ‘Atheist Church’ offering non-believers a different take on traditional religious service brought over 900 people together to celebrate christmas and community… Yule Rock was a riotous, tinsel-filled sing-a-long – plenty fun, as can be seen in the film they commissioned…
I was recently asked to shoot some promo images for the new Secret Cinema experience…if you’ve been living in a hole … or perhaps a galaxy far, far away you might not have heard that this year the immersive cinephilic supremos are offering up Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
As you’d expect with Secret Cinema it’s proving to be quite* popular… check out the press and find out more below:
I spent the day with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana: ever charming and (as I’m sure you are aware) not afraid to speak their mind, they were in London this week to give some one-on-one advice to London’s next generation of fashion designers….
Needless to say, their visit got a bit of press coverage…
In the same week as following Dolce & Gabbana on a whistle stop visit to some of London’s elite fashion students I was equally as excited to spend an afternoon in a skip just off the north circular with the inimitable Radcliffe Royds… intrigued? Listen to him here:
Spark London podcast: On Living in a Soho Skip – Radcliffe Royds:
Great to see one of the images I shot for the new Punchdrunk show – “Against Captain’s Orders” – in the Arts section of today’s Telegraph. The new Punchdrunk Enrichment show (for 6 to 12 year olds) is on now at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, as you’d expect from Punchdrunk, it’s fantastic! WARNING for all Punchdrunk fans: No child, NO ENTRY!
If you missed it on Radio 4 last night then fear not – there’s still time to catch this excellent documentary on multiculturalism, the Conservative party and the importance of the BAME vote in the forthcoming general election. It was a pleasure working with Matt Hill and PPM Production on this to create the BBC iPlayer collateral.
Highlights from recent PR shoots for BaByliss Pro stylist tools… stand by for awesome hair!

Masses of children + a room full of musical instruments + London Mayor Boris Johnson = Entertainment.
The Mayor’s Music Fund is a super worthwhile charity enabling talented children from all London boroughs to receive music scholarships… these live-wire scholars don’t just sound excellent, they take a great photo too!
I stumbled upon these portraits that I took in Jharkand Province, India back in 2011 for German charity L.U.C.Y Hilfswerk. As well as covering all their frontline outreach work, self-help groups, free schools, drop-in centres and HIV/AIDS Clinic I spent an enjoyable afternoon ankle deep in mud, photographing these rice paddy workers …
Just back from Mexico, where I had time to visit the oh so impressive Mercado Lucas de Galvez… the chaotic, colourful and convivial central market of Merida. Where else could you find a religious statue avenue, a cobbler in the Fishmongers section and cheery old ladies manning bookstalls replete with Lucha Libre magazines, children’s books and second-hand pornography!
Just about the only thing I can publish from the AW14 Dr Martens Global Launch is the entertainment (courtesy of THE SPITFIRES) who played a set in the wee small hours. The trio, clad in DM’s were dressed to impress and sounded the part too…
Beautiful women, beautiful hair, enough said. PR and product shots for Toni&Guy / JWT
Behind the scenes at Palmer//Harding – London Fashion Week Spring Summer 2014.
Pigeon Weekending – was shot at the British Homing World Show of the Year, the two-day gathering of pigeon fanciers held in Blackpool, each January. Three sets of portraits, shot over the course of a weekend are studies of the faces behind this age-old traditional pastime. Being a Sandgronian (someone from Blackpool) I grew up aware of Pigeon Weekend and the difference it made to this seaside town in the depths of winter. However, I never really knew what it was about, who took part in such an event and of course, why?
Way back when, before buses were cool and drummers were the power behind a band, these guys were kicking up a storm in South London...
